HARD FOR BIRDS TO ICE SKATE NOW!
It works very well. Birds love the open water. The cord is short, which is not all bad, but I do use an extension cord. I sealed the connection with a sleeve of inner tube then seal the ends with silicone caulking.
I also put a rock on the heater as the cord is stiff and it does not lie flat without the extra weight. It does not affect the heating.
