| The SAVIO Livingponds Versatile Filter™ shares all the features of the Livingponds Waterfall Filter™ but instead of a 22" weir it has a 2" discharge. Unlike filters which have to be placed at the top of the waterfall, the Versatile Filter can be located either at the top of the waterfall or up to 10' away. I bought this filter in April 2012, and it came complete with all the bulkhead fittings I needed to retrofit this to my existing pump and above-ground intake system. It seems extremely well-built and designed, and has worked admirably so far (hasn't been exposed to a Colorado winter yet). I was a bit suspicious about the filter medium's ability to adequately clean the water in my fish-filled pond, so I augmented it with a 25# mesh bag of ceramic filtration pebbles on top of two fiber mats place just on top of the bottom hard-plastic grate; I also added a UV light into the system just before the filter intake. My water is clean and clear, fish are happy, and so am I. The basic product is, thus far, top-notch and far easier to clean than a pressurized filter.
